The former Spice Girl, 33, and scriptwriter Sacha Gervasi, 39, are trying to work out their differences for the sake of their child, due next spring. But we hear it's not all plain sailing between the pair who are trying to iron out their problems away from prying eyes, holed up in George Michael's LA mansion. A mutual pal tells us: "Geri and Sacha are back together and trying to work it out for the baby. "It is very important to both of them that their child has both parents on the scene, so they are willing to go to any lengths to achieve this. But they have a very volatile relationship and are arguing quite a lot. "Just last week they were supposed to meet friends for dinner in LA but had to cancel at the last minute because they were too emotional after a big row." Well, who can blame Geri, with all those hormones raging? She became close to George, 42, after the Spice Girls split in 1998 and this is not the first time he has come to her rescue. After the band went their separate ways George invited her to his home in the South of France. At the time Geri gushed: "George just became part of my life. Can you imagine how lucky that was for me? He really helped me. I don't know what I would have done without that guy. I was so lonely. I needed someone to give me a cuddle." But things all went a bit pear-shaped in 2001 after George - whose documentary A Different Story has its gala premiere next week - decided he wanted her out of his life. He dismissed Geri as "obsessed with hype" and said: "It's very difficult to maintain a relationship with a person who lives for the Press when all I want to do is run away from that." But thankfully the pair have since put their differences behind them and when George heard Geri needed a helping hand he immediately offered his LA house. A pal tells us: "George was thrilled when he heard about Geri's pregnancy. He thinks it's just what she needs to focus her energy on now. "He knows she is having a difficult time with the father, so he offered up his house in LA for them to stay in while he is in the UK. He thinks it'll be a haven for them to sort out their differences in private. He really wants them to make it for the sake of the baby." Wonder if he'll be invited to be godfather after all his efforts...

POSH GETS £55,000 CAR SURPRISE
The England captain, last night playing for Real Madrid against arch-rivals Barcelona, bought 31-year-old Victoria the silver-grey BMW 645i in the summer. But locals in Madrid haven't seen Posh in the car until now because she was too scared to drive it. With a price tag of £55,000 (three days' pay for Becks) the sports car does 0-60mph in six seconds. It joins their fleet of motors, including a £200,000 Ferrari Maranello and £95,000 Lamborghini Gallardo. A source revealed: "It was a gift from David - but Victoria hadn't driven it. Worried parents David and Victoria Beckham took him to a private clinic in Madrid after he developed a high fever. Doctors diagnosed a bronchitis-like viral infection after a series of tests on the three-year-old and kept him in overnight as a precaution. He is now off nursery and resting at the couple's £5million mansion in the Spanish capital. The fresh scare comes less than two months after the youngster was admitted to hospital twice in a week with convulsions. Romeo fell ill again just hours after David, 30, lavished flowers and gifts on his wife during a night out in London to help her get over the stress of their son's recent health problems Posh and Becks took him to hospital on Monday after flying back to Madrid. An insider said: "David pampered Victoria rotten last weekend. "He reserved her the best suite at Blakes Hotel and filled it with thousands of pounds worth of flowers and gifts. "The idea was to help her get over the stress of Romeo's recent illness. "Him falling sick again so soon after has really knocked them for six." Romeo spent Monday night at Madrid's Ruber International Clinic after being admitted that afternoon. VICTORIA Beckham has sensationally admitted to lying about her controversial boob op. Posh had repeatedly denied in public that she'd had breast implants - despite constant speculation. She even went to great lengths to deny the claim in a TV programme shown to millions of viewers. But her legal team now admit this was a FIB. The bombshell admission comes in a document before the hearing of the libel case she and hubby David are bringing. In a court file, obtained by The People, where Posh is referred to as the "Second Claimant", it is accepted... "That the Second Claimant had in fact undergone breast enhancement surgery and had lied about it on the Tabloid Tales television programme."
