News Of The World ''Spice Girls Will Reunite For Live8'' UNITED KINGDOM: After a week of intense negotiations, Posh, Sporty, Scary, Ginger and Baby will reunite for the gig of the decade in London's Hyde Park on Saturday, July 2nd. It will be the first time they've shared a stage in 8 and Live 8 will also be the launch pad for a new single, album and tour. According to UK tabloid News Of The World, ''The girls really wanted to be a part of Live 8. They've been discussing the possibility of reforming for the last year or so but they agreed it had to be the right project. It had to be something special and what’s more special than Live 8?, Not only is it an absolutely huge event but its also for charity, which is great'' Mel B also confirmed this week.''We'll get back together because we all want to. I know everyone is up for it. Theres going to be a greatest hits album and we've got loads of new songs that nobody has heard yet.'' Earlier this week it looked unlikely that the girls would appear at Live 8 after it was wrongly claimed promoter Harvey Goldsmith had banned them for not being rock n roll enough. He later confirmed they'd be more than welcome and on Wednesday Sir Bob Geldof said he'd spoken to the girls and the signs were looking good. Now the nitty gritty has been sorted and they're definitely talking part. Victoria Beckham even went so far as to meet with manager Simon Fuller in LA this weekend to thrash out her part of the deal. But a comeback for global poverty isn't the only project in the pipeline, the girls also plan to release a new single and a greatest hits album. In fact, the band has already lined up a track written by Richard Stannard and Matt Rowe, who penned several of their hits including debut number one Wannabe. News Of The World added ''The girls are planning to release the new single as soon as possible. They will then bring out a greatest hits album on the back of Live 8. They know it's the perfect way to bring them back into the limelight''

Now Emma Bunton has confirmed: "We're getting back together, its just a matter of time. Our Greatest Hits is coming out in the next few weeks and we've all been talking on the phone. Its very exciting. All we need to do is finalise a few more things for our tour next year." The album will be crammed full of the band's most famous tracks including debut single 'Wannabe', 'Who Do You Think You Are' and '2 Become 1'. It will also feature unreleased album tracks like 'Saturday Night Divas' and 'Naked'. All the girls are meeting on monday at a top-secret location to thrash out the details of their comeback.

Spice Girls Comeback The Spice Girls are planning to reform next year for a 10th anniversary show. And music industry experts predict the fab five could pick up an astonishing £10m EACH if they went on a world tour. Mel B let the cat out of the bag on GMTV when she revealed the girls are close to agreeing a deal to team up again. Their first single Wannabe hit the charts in July 1996 - and they want to celebrate with a special show and the release of a greatest hits CD. When Mel was asked if the girls will get back together, she replied: "I think so, but that's just me. "Hopefully next year, if we can get everything sorted and together." And she added she has spoken to two of the girls - and will speak to the others shortly. "Emma and Melanie have been to visit me and I am going to be having dinner with Geri soon," she said. "I haven't been to see Victoria because I've been working... but everything is cool on that front." None of the girls have had much success in their solo careers - but together they could earn megabucks. An insider is quoted as saying in The Sun: "They are considering playing at the new Wembley Stadium next year. "It would be a dream venue and there's no doubt they would pack it out." Homesick Vic hosts tea party SHE'S said to be sick to the back teeth of living in Spain and pining for the comforts of life back in England. As if to underline just how homesick she is, Victoria Beckham is planning a lavish 31st birthday bash - a traditional English tea party in the grounds of Beckingham Palace next month. And paella, sangria and tapas are definitely off the menu. Posh, who has regained her svelte figure five weeks after having third son, Cruz, has asked caterers to provide all the calorie-laden goodies that go with an English tea party - scones, cream cakes and pots of tea. A friend of the singer-turned-fashion-designer tells us: "Victoria loves England. She wants to celebrate all the things she misses when she's in Madrid. "Beckingham Palace is the perfect setting for an English country garden theme. All the hired help will be dressed in butler or maid costumes. "She'll also use the opportunity to meet up with friends and family, most of whom haven't seen the new addition to the Beckham clan. She's invited her Spice Girl bandmates - Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C - and she's expecting them all to come." It should certainly be a far happier occasion than her 30th, which she spent with no cake, no party and no husband. Back then, Posh was still reeling from allegations that David, 29, had been unfaithful with his ex-PA Rebecca Loos and former model Sarah Marbeck - claims dismissed by the couple. Victoria's reluctance to relocate to Spain was blamed for putting pressure on the Beckhams' marriage. Although they finally found a home in Madrid, Posh has fuelled rumours of a swift return to the UK by holding a place for Brooklyn at the £2,451-a-term Heath Mount private school in Hertfordshire. She is also said to be missing her parents, her sister Louise and her close friend Maria Louise Featherstone. Last week David hinted that his days as a Real Madrid player may be numbered because he is sick of the Spanish paparazzi hounding their sons Brooklyn, six, and two-year-old Romeo. A source adds: "It has been a nightmare for Victoria living in Madrid, seeing her kids go to school in a foreign country and without the support of her friends and family. "She knows that her future and that of her family belong in England." We'll drink a cuppa to that... |
